Is there any end to this family feud?

Prince Harry has been trying to reconcile with his family for a while. He met with his father last year, and there are reports that the two might meet again soon, perhaps with Harry’s children present. But none of these reports have included a possible meeting with Prince William, despite the fact that some rumblings indicated Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle were working behind the scenes to try to make it happen.

But now that’s apparently on hold. RadarOnline is reporting that Middleton has “totally killed off” hopes of a possible meeting between her and William and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, after becoming frustrated over some comments they made during the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s recent overseas trip.

One insider in particular alleged that Middleton was upset at Harry and Meghan’s attempts to mimic official royal tours, all while criticizing the institution. “For a long time, Kate tried to rise above all the drama because she genuinely believed there was still a path toward some sort of peace between Sussexes and the royals,” the source said.

“She bent over backwards to avoid escalating tensions and always hoped things could eventually calm down. But from her perspective, every carefully choreographed overseas appearance and every so-called royal-style tour has chipped away at that goodwill.”

The insider explained Middleton’s change of heart. “She now feels Meghan and Harry are deliberately blurring the lines between celebrity branding and royal duty while still cashing in on the status that comes with their titles. That has become incredibly difficult for Kate to accept because she takes the responsibilities of royal life very seriously.”

“In short, Kate has killed off the idea of a reunion with the Sussexes this summer,” the source claimed.

This comes after reports that King Charles was trying to reunite the brothers at his Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England, and hoped his grandchildren, Prince Archie, who is 6, and Princess Lilibet, who is 4, would be present. But those reports indicated there was resistance from William, despite his father’s wishes for a reconciliation.

It also comes after royal author Christopher Andersen said that Middleton was upset about what she considered “horribly demoralizing” comments about King Charles’ cancer battle.

What comments? During a BBC interview in 2025, Harry said he “didn’t know how much longer (his) father had,” and that’s why he was looking for reconciliation. Kate had reportedly been in favor of the brothers reconciling before that, but Harry’s negative tone about his father’s illness left her pretty “hurt,” especially considering she has also battled cancer. And if reports indicate Middleton was upset, that’s nothing compared to William, who reportedly was “apoplectic with rage.”

“William, who had already slammed the door shut on his brother over what Harry wrote in Spare, was, in the words of a courtier, ‘apoplectic’ with rage,” Andersen writes. “Now it was time to nail the door shut once and for all, and for the first time, Kate, who had worked harder than anyone to mend the rift between the brothers, willingly handed her husband a hammer.”

The first lady and Princess of Wales have a close bond.

King Charles and Queen Camilla traveled to the United States for four days in late April 2026, where they took part in several events at the White House alongside President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

Moments before the royal couple departed on April 30, they bid the Trumps goodbye outside their car. A lip reader who claimed to have witnessed the exchange said she saw Melania ask Camilla to pass along a sweet message to Kate Middleton and her family.

“Good luck with everything, and enjoy yourself,” Melania told Camilla, according to lip reader Nicola Hickling (via The Sun). She then added, “Send my love to Catherine and William and their children.”

The first lady and Princess of Wales have reportedly grown close, and after Charles and Camilla’s successful trip, the Trumps invited Kate and Prince William to visit America in summer 2026.

“Melania wants Catherine, in particular, to come,” a source told the Daily Mail. “She admires her greatly and would love her to visit.”

This follows a November 2025 report from Page Six that revealed Kate and William were allegedly eyeing an official visit in July 2026, lining it up with the 4th of July festivities.

Melania and Kate previously bonded and spent time together while working with the Scouts in Windsor in September 2025 during the Trumps’ U.K. visit. At the time, a Kensington Palace source told Hello! magazine, “You could very much see how warm and friendly they were after spending time together.”

“They were chatting away and they both really enjoyed the engagement,” the source added. “The First Lady was super-relaxed and she really enjoyed her time with the Princess.”

Another source added that this engagement was “the start of what looks set to be a very warm, long-term relationship between Kate and Melania.”
