Pregnancy can lead to changes in a woman’s nose, and for some, this transformation catches them completely off guard. A recent TikTok trend, under the hashtag “pregnancy nose,” sees women sharing their before and after pictures. In some cases, the difference is so striking that they appear like entirely different individuals in their pre-pregnancy and post-pregnancy photos. Our featured protagonist also confronted this challenge. To a certain degree, it wasn’t just her nose that altered; her entire face began to resemble someone else’s.

This young woman went viral on TikTok after sharing a video highlighting her “pregnancy nose,” which drastically transformed her face.

Towards the end of her first trimester, Tyreece Wood began to notice changes in the size of her nose. Initially, the expectant mother didn’t pay much attention to it. However, as time passed, the 24-year-old observed that not only her nose but also the texture of her skin, along with her eyebrows and hair, were undergoing noticeable changes.

By the conclusion of her pregnancy, Tyreece felt “disgusted” and couldn’t “recognize” herself when she looked in the mirror. She courageously shared her story on TikTok, where it has garnered more than 15.9 million views and 1.8 million likes.

The sight of a different person in the mirror proved to be overwhelming for Tyreece.

Tyreece acknowledges that dealing with the bodily changes during her pregnancy was already challenging. However, the experience of gazing into the mirror and failing to recognize herself was truly disheartening.

She explains, “That’s why there aren’t many pictures of me pregnant. I had never seen anyone talk about most of the symptoms I had throughout my pregnancy. I thought all the changes would be in my weight and hormones for sure.”

In addition to changes in her skin and hair texture, she noticed that one of her eyebrows became more prominent, she gained 100 lbs, and her skin had darkened.

No one else really noticed the change, except for the mom-to-be.

Tyreece states, “I did ask my husband and family members if they noticed a difference, and they always said either no, or maybe a little. My husband only pointed it out after our son was born, and we were looking back at the hospital pictures.”

However, many users who viewed the video commented that the photos appeared to depict two different women. Some were so incredulous that they suggested the photos might be fake or edited.

“Some women are telling their stories, and some are thanking me for putting something so real out there,” Tyreece explains. Her nose returned to its normal size and shape one month after the arrival of her baby boy.
